Tewksbury Congregational Church

Legacy Giving

We are a church rich in history, so it only makes sense that we have forged enduring partnerships with organizations that share our values. For as long as most can remember, Tewksbury Congregational Church has supported the following giving projects:

School Kits ~ Each September, our church school students are invited to create school kits for children without the means to supply their own. Denim bags filled with notebooks, pencils, rulers, and such are assembled, blessed, and then distributed by the Church World Service organization. 30+ years!

Education Sponsorship ~ We know that formal education is the key to a better life, so TCC reaches out to students in different corners of the world and offers the funding to make learning possible. Our first partner in this endeavor was New Missions, serving the children of Haiti and bringing hope to an impoverished land. 20+ years!

Heifer International ~ Like TCC, Heifer's goal is to create a domino effect of giving. Over the years, we have purchased water buffaloes, llamas, chickens, and more as living gifts to families in need. And, because of our initial gift, those families were able to pass it on by sharing their animal's offspring with other families. 30+ years!

Blanket Sunday ~ We are a warm church indeed, having purchased thousands of blankets over the years on Blanket Sunday. Used for warmth, as shelter, or as a means for transport, these low-cost wool blankets are often the only shield between the harsh elements and a human soul. For $5 each, TCC members buy them by the hundreds and share them through CWS. 30+ years!
